CIWP:  Thank you to those 46 participants who helped support our SEF survey.  As we continue to narrow down our school priorities for the school strategic plan it looks like Restorative Approaches to Discipline, Relational Trust, MTSS and Balanced Grading and Assessment have risen to the forefront.  More information coming soon as we continue to confirm our school direction.

School Drama Performance (Audition permission slip attached):  Our School production of Anne Jr. will host auditions on Monday from 3:00-5:30 PM for those interested students in grades 4-8th.

Walk Out: We had about 75 students peacefully participate in the national walkout this past Wednesday as a show of solidarity for those in Parkland, FL.  We encouraged student safety and the possibility to "Walk-Up!"

Attendance Reminder:  Our school attendance rate is extremely important!  Our year goal is 97%!  Please help us attain this number by sending our scholars daily prepared to take advantage of every learning opportunity.  Not only does our school report card count on this attendance, the opportunities for learning are dramatically increased with regular daily attendance. That said, we need scholars on time to school at 7:45 AM daily.  Also, keep in mind early dismissals count against the school and individual student attendance.

Attendance Challenge:  Congrats to room 305 for posting the highest attendance rate for the 1st half of this month's attendance challenge (3/1 to 3/14).  These scholars will be tossing pies at Mr. McNichols on Friday for posting at attendance rate or 98.8%!  We will be inviting another class based on the attendance rate from the 15th to the 23rd.

Grades:  As we move into the break, please keep in mind we are quickly headed to the end of the year.  Attached is the CPS promotion policy.

IBLP:  Student/ parent invites went home on Friday for those selected students.  We will be hosting this on Friday the 23rd at 9:00 AM.

Visitors:  Please make sure all visitors are signing in at the security desk.  Parents and/or community members, as much as we love each of you should not be moving throughout the building without a visitor's pass.

Ridge Run:  Mark your calendars for Memorial Day run and festivities. CK took the trophy from us last year and we will need everyone's support to regain our community dominance!  This is a link to the BAPA story to get this year's race underway. Our team/ school code will be CLISSOLD2018.  I will let everyone know when the online registration opens, paper applications are available.

Beverly Art Walk:  Clissold will be hosting the Children's Park again for the Art Walk.  The date was just announced for 9/29/18.

Parent Portal:  If you haven't registered or have an account, it would be a great idea to open this or get back up to speed as a great way to monitor your child(s) grades and attendance.

We are a Montessori and IB Middle Years educational community who believes in the gift of every child to inspire and empower the future of our humanity.
